Jesus' Desire for Us

This week we will consider John 17. This is part four of five. Give careful consideration to Jesus' high priestly prayer.

“…that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.”
(John 17:21; NKJV)

Jesus’ desire for us.
Jesus longs for us to be one (v. 21). The nature of this oneness is to reflect the nature of the oneness of GOD (v. 21, 23). The purpose of the oneness is to lead others to faith (v. 21, 23). The means of this oneness is the glory of the Father, given to the Son, given by the Son to those who believe (v. 22). Jesus longs for us to behold His glory (v. 24). Jesus longs for the Father to love us (17:23, 26).
