Bitterness is not a characteristic of Christ.
We are not to be “…full of cursing and bitterness.” (Romans 3:14)
Peter “wept bitterly.” (Matthew 26:75; Luke 22:62)
Simon was “poisoned by bitterness” (Acts 8:23).
We are not to have “…bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts…” (James 3:14).
“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice.” (Ephesians 4:31)
Husbands, “do not be bitter toward” your wives (Colossians 3:19).
We are to avoid “any root of bitterness springing up” in our hearts (Hebrews 12:15)
